What's coming for 2027
Chevrolet says that while the exterior may look familiar, big changes are coming to the 2027 Silverado HD:
- Two new engines: an all-new available Duramax 8.3L Turbo-Diesel V8 and an enhanced 6.6L gas V8
- First-in-segment electric power steering, plus new eBoost braking
- Advanced trailering tech, including up to 14 available camera views
- Trail Boss on the Custom for the first time
- ZR2 upgrades: a 1.5-inch factory lift, larger Multimatic DSSV dampers and the HD's first Terrain Mode
- Standard oil level sensor
2027 Silverado HD Engines
Chevrolet says both engines will pair with an Allison 10-speed transmission.

Chevrolet calls the Duramax 8.3L's horsepower and torque best in class. It's built in Brookville, Ohio, and the 6.6L gas V8 is built in Tonawanda, New York.

ZR2
- 1.5-inch factory lift with larger Multimatic DSSV dampers

- Rear e-locker, 35-inch mud-terrain tires and aluminum skid plates
Trail Boss (available on Custom)
- 20-inch wheels with BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires
- Z71 suspension package with twin-tube shocks
- Autotrac 2-speed transfer case and Z71 skid plate
Trailering and Technology
- Chassis, suspension, steering and brakes tuned for towing; Tow/Haul mode adds steering damping for trailer control
- Diesel exhaust braking and grade-braking strategies to help reduce brake stress
- Up to 14 available camera views for hitching, lane changes, reversing and trailer monitoring
- Available Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert and an in-vehicle trailering app
- 13.4-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch Driver Information Center
- Available Google built-in with Google Gemini
- OnStar Basics standard for 8 years, including Automatic Crash Response
